I haven't seen the film so I can't speak to how they treat the subject - I am reacting over what I see in their advertisement. From what I'm seeing here, its not treated as a serious issue. The trick is to show the husband is breaking his vow or is a jerk in some way. This then gives the spouse enough moral cover to do as she pleases despite the fact that it makes her no better than her lout husband. The Graduate doesn't portray the affair as a positive, this film appears (and for all those people who get upset when I prejudge films based on the trailers for those movies, I said APPEARS) to not see this as a negative.
