David Fincher is one of the most talented and inventive directors of his generation. Despite his boring and unfocused
Zodiac, his films are each clever and intelligently presented. The first trailer for his latest, scheduled to be released in December, has hit the Internet.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is an adaptation from a by F. Scott Fitzgerald and tells the tale of a man who begins to age backward. By the looks of the trailer, Fincher is dipping from the same visual well he used to create much of
Fight Club and is dealing with the same sense of unreality. Even though I despise most things post-modern, I am drawn to Fincher's work and am looking forward to this one. Here's to hoping it doesn't stink.

Looks Burton-esque. Gilliam-ish, even. I have liked nearly all of Fincher's films, several of Burton's movies and nearly everything that Terry Gilliam has done, so I can see myself getting excited about this.
Looks good. Interesting that it's already being advertised in Spanish. And lol at yet another trailer using Saint-Saen's "Aquarium" from Carnival of the Animals to give it that faux-fantasy/spooky edge. However, the piece has been re-orchestrated for voices which makes me think that it might actually be a part of the soundtrack for a change.
Visually, I would have guessed it to be a Jeunet film.
So, what po-mo things are on your blacklist?
